The Denver Broncos enter 2025 with a roster that feels far more fantasy-friendly than in recent years. Between new additions like J.K. Dobbins and Evan Engram, plus the continued emergence of young playmakers, Denver suddenly has intriguing options at multiple positions. With Sean Payton’s offense poised to click, Broncos players could provide sneaky value and upside in fantasy football this season.
This weeks outlook
The broncos go on the road this week to face the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles defense currently ranks as DEF15 for points allowed, as well as DEF22 for yards allowed at 333. 215 of these yards are coming through the air, and with Bo Nix coming off a got week with 326 yards from scrimmage, look for him to keep that momentum rolling.
J.K. Dobbins is coming off a week where for the first time in the Sean Payton led broncos, a RB had 100 rushing yards in a game. The Eagles are generally known as a defense that stops the run more than the pass, but expect him to have another similar outing where he should be utilized as the RB1 for this backfield.
Courtland Sutton is coming off of a very nice performance, where he gathered 81 receiving yards on 5 receptions and a touchdown. Again this is a stingy Eagles secondary but expect Sutton to have a slightly similar performance as he is the go-to for Nix in clutch situations.
Evan Engram is coming into this week without an injury designation, however this Eagles unit is holding TEs to very low numbers. The highest of which being Travis Kelce with 61, but following is Jake Ferguson with just 23 yards, and no touchdowns given up to any TEs. Expect this to be a tough matchup for Engram.
Troy Franklin is the sleeper pick for the Broncos this week. After coming off a breakout game in week 2 and a down week last week, expect him to be a good second/third option for a secondary that will be focusing it's efforts to holding Sutton and Dobbins back in the receiving game.
Despite what the rankings say as the Broncos are currently DEF2 in points allowed, they have struggled this year to defend the run. Allowing performances from guys such as Jonathan Taylor with 165 rushing yards, or Hampton with 70 yards and a touchdown. Saquon Barkely has struggled in recent games to break the 50 yard rush mark, but with a much stronger O-line than most, and the rushing potential of Jalen Hurts, expect this game to be higher scoring on the opposite side of the scoreboard than last week.
Bo Nix: projected 16 points
J.K. Dobbins: projected 13.5 points
Courtland Sutton: projected 13 points
Evan Engram: projected 6.5 points
Troy Franklin: projected 8.5 points
Broncos DEF: projected 4.9 points
