The Broncos season is underway! Training camp storylines and preseason flashes have built real anticipation, with young players showing promise and veterans looking refreshed in a system designed to maximize their strengths. Here's the rundown on things you need to know going into the season.

Meet the Rooks

Round 1- Pick 20: Jahdae Barron CB

The Broncos made a splash in the 2025 NFL Draft by selecting Texas standout Jahdae Barron, the reigning Jim Thorpe Award winner and Peach Bowl Defensive MVP. A versatile cornerback with experience both on the boundary and in the slot, Barron racked up over 200 tackles, eight interceptions, and double-digit pass breakups during his Longhorns career. At 5’11” with elite quickness and a 4.39 40, Barron thrives in both man and zone coverages.

Round 2- Pick 28 (60): RJ Harvey RB

RJ Harvey arrives in Denver via the second round (No. 60 overall), bringing a dynamic, dual-threat style from UCF. In 2024 alone, he rushed for 1,577 yards and 22 touchdowns, and over his college career he had 3,792 rushing yards at 6.5 yards per carry. While the Broncos have added veteran J.K. Dobbins, Harvey’s youth, upside, and playmaking ability make him a high-upside piece in the backfield rotation.

Round 3- Pick 10 (74): Pat Bryant WR

The Broncos first third-round pick brings in Pat Bryant, who brings size, toughness, and polished technique to Denver’s receiver room. At Illinois, he caught 54 passes for 984 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024, while totaling 2,095 yards and 19 scores over his collegiate career. His route precision, body control, and ability to block in the run game make him a reliable possession target.

Round 3- Pick 37 (101): Sai'vion Jones EDGE

Denver traded up to select Jones with the 101st overall pick, adding a 6'5", 280 lb. edge/defensive end with significant college production at LSU. In his senior season, he posted 40 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 pass deflections, finishing his LSU career with 99 tackles, 17 TFLs, and 11.5 sacks. If he grows into consistency, he has the potential to become a dependable multi-spot defensive lineman who strengthens Denver’s depth and pass-rush options.

Round 4- Pick 32 (134): Que Robinson EDGE

The Broncos fourth round pick was Que Robinson, who brings an athletic frame of 6′4″, 243 lbs. and strong special teams pedigree from Alabama. Over his collegiate career, he compiled 54 tackles and 6 sacks, with his senior season logging 23 tackles, 7 TFLs, and 4 sacks in only nine games due to injury. Robinson’s traits include length, bend, and burst off the edge, which hint at upside as a situational pass rusher, though his technique, strength, and run-defense polish are developmental areas.

Round 6- Pick 40 (216): Jeremy Crawshaw P

Jeremy Crawshaw, the Broncos’ sixth-round pick in 2025 (216th overall), comes to Denver from the University of Florida where he carved out an impressive punting career. At Florida, he averaged 45.7 yards per punt in 2024, with 25 of 59 punts downed inside the 20-yard line. Over his college career he punted 190 times with an average 46.4 yards per punt. He brings both leg strength and directional control to the Denver special teams.

Round 7- Pick 25 (241): Caleb Lohner TE

Caleb Lohner is Denver’s developmental tight end project, a 6′7″, 250-lb athlete who transitioned from a basketball career to the gridiron in 2024. In his only season with Utah, he caught 4 passes for 54 yards which all ended up being touchdowns. He only saw 57 snaps on offense, but his length, athleticism, and red zone potential caught Sean Payton’s eye.

Offseason Additions

J.K. Dobbins RB (1 Year, $2.75M up to $5.25M with incentives)

J.K. Dobbins joined the Broncos after a productive 2024 season with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he rushed for 905 yards and 9 touchdowns on 195 carries, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. Known for his vision, burst, and physical running style, Dobbins brings a much-needed dynamic to Denver's backfield. His ability to break tackles and gain yards after contact makes him a valuable asset.

Evan Engram TE (2-year, $23 million deal)

Evan Engram, a former first-round pick, has been a reliable target throughout his career. In the 2024 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he recorded 47 receptions for 365 yards and 1 touchdown. Engram's athleticism and ability to stretch the field make him a matchup problem for defenders.

Dre Greenlaw LB (3-year, $35 million deal)

Dre Greenlaw brings leadership and experience to Denver's linebacker corps. Although his 2025 season stats are limited, his presence on the field is expected to bolster the team's defensive schemes.

Talanoa Hufanga S (3-year, $45 million, $20M guaranteed)

Talanoa Hufanga, acquired from the San Francisco 49ers, is known for his aggressive playstyle and football IQ. In the 2024 season, he recorded 20 total tackles and 1 forced fumble in 7 games. Hufanga's ability to read the quarterback and make plays on the ball adds a dynamic element to the Broncos' secondary.

Trent Sherfield Jr. WR (2-year, $8 million contract)

Trent Sherfield Jr. joins the Broncos after a season with the Minnesota Vikings, where he recorded 8 receptions for 83 yards and 1 touchdown. Known for his speed and ability to stretch the field, Sherfield adds depth to Denver's receiving corps.
